Notice: Flagstaff Memorial Weekend #14 P&D and #11 P&D ropings will be limited to the first 125 teams to enter.  This is an effort to guarantee a reasonable start time for those entering the WSTR Qualifiers that follow each of these ropings.

Nothing else has changed.  All other ropings will be run as previously advertised with no additional entry limits.

A revised Advertisement has been posted on this site.  We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause…however The Roping Company is committed to serving ropers and honoring their valuable time.

So the Apache Gold April Qualifier was a big draw.  The #10 WSTR Qualifier at 248 teams was one of the largest for a non Winter (read non Snowbird) roping.  Unfortunately, also large was the #14 warm-up roping on Friday at 280 teams…WAY too many teams, especially with a chute breakdown midway through.  We apologize for the size of this roping and for the delay of the #13 WS Qualifier.  This is the reason for the reason for the cap on Flagstaff warm-up ropings.

Now for the good news, with the addition of the #9 Qualifier a total of 18 teams were qualified for the WSTR Las Vegas Finale.  In fact the payout for only Qualifier ropings over the weekend weighed in at $210,500.  Not bad for an off-season roping in Arizona.

Also big for this event was the first #9 WSTR Qualifier in Arizona and boy was it a success paying out a Trailer and Buckles and $27,860 in cash…and oh yeah three qualifying spots in the WSTR Las Vegas Finale.

April is a great month to rope at Apache Gold Pavilion.  Outdoor mid-day temperatures may spike to 90's but the weather inside is always fantastic.  50-60 degrees in the morning for a nice warmup.

The re-convergence of WSTR and USTRC numbers looks to be a great thing for Arizona ropers, especially those who were caught on an island with either of the two organizations.  It's no secret that AZ ropers were trending to WSTR and the two handicapping systems were losing syncronization. Look for freer movement between ropings and a sigh of relief from bi-number-polar producers.

So on Memorial Day weekend ropers have two choices to rope with The Roping Company…literally!  Rope in Show Low at Linden Valley Arena or in Flagstaff at the Ft Tuthill Posse Arena.  Consult the Ads here on this page or the Events page to see what will work for you but basically Show Low starts on Friday with an Open and higher numbers and Flagstaff starts on Saturday with higher numbers and ends with the second #9 WSTR Qualifier in AZ on Monday.

If you can't wait until Memorial Day you are in luck.  Saturday, May 12th is the Linden Valley Arena Season Opener and a great way to break out for the Summer if you did or didn't rope much in the Winter.  With $2,000 guaranteed to 1st in the #11 it will be a good paying affair as well.

Keep up the Good Practice and we hope you can come experience some "Good Times" with The Roping Company soon.

Oh, one more thing.  Check out this video of select teams at Globe.  Guarantee you will like it.  View it full screen and HD and enjoy...
