Pictures will be posted soon. The Roping Company’s El Dinero Pays $52,000 at Empty Acres on Jan 5th! TRC’s El Dinero payed out $52,000 in cash and awarded Four Ostrich Seat Ultra-Deluxe Double-J Extra Fancy Saddles. The inaugural El Dinero cruised to a heavy payout and a good time for ropers vying for lots of cash and some very special saddles. The events were held on Friday and all entered ropers were treated to a complimentary practice session on Thursday to get to know the arena and were allowed to help sort the cattle for the El Dinero. Ropers, if you haven’t yet been a competitor or spectator at Empty Acres, drop by and see Mike & Tammi Sully and their friendly staff or visit them online at www.emptyacres.com. With the "land-grab" going on in the "valley of the sun" Arizona is fortunate to have such a fine privately owned (read no city council intervention). Also located on site are a fantastic tack/feed store [Forever-D] and a state of the art veterinarian clinic [River Ridge]. The #10 El Dinero started in the morning as planned. Teams who went out in the first round got the chance to rope for money in the following go’s so that everyone stayed in the game. Five positions were paid in the Ave but since only three ropers had three steers down the short round was down to four teams…roped slowest to fastest. 4th high call back team Leigh Sherwood and Kurt Lorenson put the must catch pressure on the rest of the field by getting four steers down in 58.59 and the top three high call backs proceeded to miss so that Leigh and Kurt took the pot of $8,000 and Ultra-Fancy saddles. The other teams dropped one spot but otherwise left in the same order that they came. The #11 El Dinero started in the afternoon as planned and things started to heat up. Jared Wells and Glen Crane started the afternoon by winning the fast go and repeated with three smooth runs to dominate the field with 34.47. Otherwise catching four steers would win a team at least 6th place in the Ave. Congratulations to Jared and Glen on a terrific day of roping. The Roping Company would like to thank Mike Sully and the staff of Empty Acres for providing Arizona’s most complete team roping destination. Also, kudos to Cactus Ropes for producing a fantastic selection of ropes…find your favorite one and you will end up at the pay window…it’s almost that simple. Most especially The Roping Company would like to thank the continued interest of team ropers AND their supporting families in The Roping Company’s events! Ropers be sure to mark your Calendars for TRC’s Truck Bonanza with #10 and #12 ropings March 31 and April Fools day (really) also at Empty Acres. We’ll leave the wraps on and see you there!
